Andy Lau Concert (Sep 2013)
If you're attending a concert at the Mercedes Benz Arena, I suggest going a little earlier to walk around the vicinity. There's an entertaining musical fountain show just beside the stadium but I'm not too sure of the showtimes. Anyway, another one of my dreams come true - seeing the legendary Andy Lau live :D T'was a rather elaborate performance and he is as suave as ever.

Metallica concert (13Aug13)
I must admit that Metallica is a little past my time. The only song I know from them is the all too popular Enter Sandman! BUT I really got blown away by their performance. They're damn good, period. There was so much energy in the house I'm sure everyone had a blast that night. Hope the awesome video loads!
First concert in SH
Attended an All-Star concert at the Mercedes Benz Arena, which was the first of many concerts to come. Love this indoor hall. And also love S for getting us box tickets bid through SPG points. A little further away on the 2nd level but it's comfortable and exclusive. Anyway, this was like a karaoke session - only live with my favourite karaoke stars! Elva Hsiao 萧亚轩, David Tao 陶喆, Harlem Yu 庾澄庆, Fish Leung 梁静茹 and A-Mei 张惠妹!Plus another 2 from Voice of China. Slightly nostalgic as these were the people I listened to growing up. To be able to see so many of them perform live (albeit just 3-4 songs each), I felt truly 满足了。

Swan Lake; Rugby; Snow; Zo
Watched a Swan Lake ballet (titled Le Lac des Cygnes in french) last night at the Opéra Bastille. The theater is a lot more modern than I had expected. Very much prefer Palais Garnier with its magnificent interior. Having been my first encounter with a full classic ballet, I find the overall pace of the performance slow. The first two acts were a lil boring but thankfully the pace picked up to give a grand ending. I enjoyed it nonetheless as I love ballets.
Last Saturday - Rugby test match between France & Australia at the Stade de France. The French got terribly thrashed by the Aussies with a score of 16-59! It became sort of embarrassing for the 80,000-strong home crowd.
26 Nov - The day we sighted the first snowfall in Paris. November! Can you imagine? We were shopping around Rue St. Honoré and the Goyard store assistant told us that the snow had come 3 weeks too early! Anyway, I'm not complaining because I ♥ snow. You should have seen how excited I was that day. Yes it's painfully cold, but looking at the white droplets really makes me feel happy I don't know why. It seems to have some magical effect on me. But of course I'm not wishing for heavy snow storms! Light ones will do :) As it is, I'm already looking to get a scraper to scrap those frost off my windscreen.
Friday night - Dinner with free-flow champagne! Ladies night though so too bad for the men. Hah. Drank till we were tipsy but I still managed to drive us home :p Food was quite good as well. We had a burger & a truffle penne as our mains. Love this new-found value-for-money restaurant especially since we got a discount by booking through www.toptable.com. Recommended! Not sure when this promotion ends though so you gotta hurry.

Lady Gaga concert
A couple of days back we went to Lady Gaga's concert (The Monster Ball Tour 2010) & it was A-MAZ-ING. 2.5 hours of powerpacked performance..whoohoo! Overnight, we became fans of Lady Gaga. Hahaha. We both concluded that she is out of this world. Crazy thing was that we got the tickets through sheer chance & luck. Just a few days before the concert (we didn't even know about it), S was surfing for rugby tickets & out of nowhere, she chanced upon this. Luck on our side, there were about 50 tix remaining (at the official price) which S grabbed at without hesitation. So tada, she came home that day with her sweet surprise: "Guess what, we're going to see Lady Gaga this Sat"!!
Cat 1 tix at 95€ each & we were seated quite close to the stage, albeit on the right side. We were a bit shocked to see the 17000-strong arena (Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy) fully packed. Never knew Parisians were so happening!
The opening:
Love the props...
and her exaggerated costumes.
The finale. None other than...Bad Romance.
Presenting Lady Gaga and her exotic gay-men dancers:
I cannot tell you enough how superb the atmosphere was. Everyone was dancing; even little kids. Will prob post some videos on fb to give you a little glimpse. Couldn't capture the song choruses though, too busy dancing!!! ;)
